The Edge of Vision: LightWork

LightWork is the newest portfolio within the Edge of Vision and maps my personal journey from near blindness to visual clarity (see CameraWork for more details). The images herein, all time exposures made in the camera, use the methods of photography to represent a world just beyond the border of sight. Grounded in computer-generated light forms, the multivalent pictures investigate motion and stasis, chance and design, and the very meaning of light-writing to consider how camera improvisation can produce bold and emotional pictures that challenge received wisdom about the nature of photographic practice and the act of perception itself. What we see is our world, rendered photographically, inside out.
